  • Multiple means of expression, to provide learners alternatives for demonstrating what they know,
  • Multiple means of engagement, to tap into learners' interests, offer appropriate challenges, and increase motivation.

A Word about CAST
"In our ten-week 2004 summer school, 95% of the 104 students raised their reading ability at least one grade level using Thinking Reader!... Even my reluctant readers became focused readers...the program maintained their interest while they learned reading strategies quickly."
Jon Van Wagoner, Utah Teacher of the Year 2004, Eastmont Middle School
